1. This is my second pair of Brook's Ghost, and again I ordered a 9.5 (my usual size is 8.5 in shoes). I found the Ghost 8's 9.5 a little roomier than the Ghost 7's 9.5. The last pair helped me through my first marathon and sizing up a full size saved my toenail. So I don't regret going large again, but this shoe does seem a little wider and longer than its earlier version. Cushioning is good. Toe box is very roomy. Brooks is a great running shoe.
2. I am wearing them with thin socks as the toe box is a little snug. I can't have cramped toes. Thin socks are best.
With ankle high stockings, they are perfect!! If I wear thicker socks I would need a 6 1/2 size.
3. After finding these at such a great price on Amazon, I decided to order a pair and try them. After all, I could return them free if I didn't like them. I wasn't so sure I'd like this color combo but I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived. I love the colors on them. Very pretty for spring and summer seasons. The online photos don't show the true colors of this shoe.They fit me a bit snug width wise mid shoe but I expect them to loosen up a bit the same as the that I've had for about a year did. Ariel's did. I wear the Ariel's whenever I know I'll be walking on hard surfaces like you find in most retail stores and the big box warehouses. They're about a year old and fitting a little looser than when I got them. I have to wear thicker socks than I'll wear during the summer. Some of the reviews on these Ghost 8's indicated they run a bit narrow so I order them in wide and I'm glad I did as the medium width would have been too narrow for me especially in the toe box. These are just right in that area but a little snug mid shoe. There's a little more arch support than the Ariel's but they are comfortable and lighter weight.
I gave them four stars because the width feels narrow for a wide shoe.
